Nathan has been practicing the art of Shaolin for 8 years and in that time he has earned a 2nd degree black belt in Shaolin Kung Fu as well as a 3rd degree black sash in Shaolin's Internal Arts program. As an assistant instructor his approach to teaching is with energy, a sense of humor, and dedication. "When folks ask me what I do in my spare time, I smile and tell them Kung Fu and Tai Chi!".
Jenny Houle
Jenny has been a student with the Idaho Shaolin Center since September of 2017. In that time she has achieved the level of 2nd degree black belt. "I absolutely love the stimulation Kung Fu brings to me physically and mentally. As someone who always wants to learn something new, Kung Fu has an amazing amount to offer! I don't think it will be possible for me to run out of new and exciting challenges in my training".
Scott Normandin
Scott started practicing martial arts while attending college in 1973. His professional career took him all over the country and around the world. Over the past 50 years he has studied many martial arts including Kenpo Karate, Shotokan Karate, Aikido, Taekwondo, and now Shao Lin Kung Fu. He started studying Shao Lin Kung Fu under Master John in 1999. "Traveling with my job I found it difficult to maintain a consistent schedule. Returning back home to Boise, I always felt welcomed and could easily pick up my training right where I left off. Out of all of the martial arts I have studied over the years, The Shao Lin system not only has a tremendous amount of material and weapons to be learned, but maybe even more important is the instruction. And I can without hesitation say that the best instructor I’ve ever had the blessing to study under is Elder Master John Keller".
